This is a work of fiction that follows a successful U.S. Navy Officer with a remarkable military and military intelligence career rooted in Asia and the far-East. Eventually experiencing adversities in his life including a stint as a POW in Vietnam, he ultimately returns to the U.S. and finds himself homeless.

Longing for a family, deprived by his military obligations, he is alone and now discovers he has a terminal cancer.

The book ultimately is about how do homeless people without families or support pass on when they have a life-ending medical condition?

I started writing this story in 1997 after a long-time patient of mine passed away.  This is a work of fiction based on this real patient who suffered from a severe condition of cerebral palsy.

The story is about Jakob's struggles and how he - although severely handicapped - had significant impact upon other people's lives for the better.  

This is a book on the many ways we can improve our lives through Emotional, Mental, Spiritual, Financial, Nutritional, Physical, Intellectual, Transitional, and Social Well Being.  The book explores ways we can enhance our well being through various activities such as forest bathing, meditation, journaling etc.
